I guess my top 9 are the 9 posts from last year on my feed, but is the beginnings of a journaled recap of 2025.
.
Here's a smattering of film pix from my first trip to LA in January which almost didn't happen for a myrid of reasons. Fresh off of a funeral for a very close friend, blue skies still filled with invisible hazards from the fires, and everyone reflecting on the loss of material life, it wasn't ever meant to be a pleasure cruise.
Armed with zero expectations but some goals of thanking the wonderful and supportive humans at Hallmark, quality time with old friends and collect a few new ones it was resonately fufilling with some time in between for my personal hobby - getting lost and staring at sometime mundane things.
Now having a bit of time to unpack and reflect on the year over the holidays it been a complex one. Like how they say dreaming of death is about transformation - tumultuous renewal and paradoxical freedom. I am unwaveringly grateful for all the amazing people who I cross paths with and for those who have been generous with support.
Bonus points if this poignant @flyinglotus track resonates. And if you've made it this far in the photos and word ramblings I hope you enjoyed the small cat reward.

Behind by a couple of weekends but wanted to appreciate these wonderful humans that made this all happen. Fun definitely had, reunions celebrated, ideas tested (looking at you @erinkrakow flying through the air), gazes cast, champagne flutes clinked, office chairs sat in.

Round 1 recap after being invited to cover the floating Christmas adventure that was the 2025 Hallmark Christmas Cruise. A few stats from my perspective:
Shooting days - 4
Scheduled events covered - 30+
Cruise ship size - very yes
Cruise experience prior to this - 0
Avg daily step count - 13,000
Port of call - Cozumel, Mexico
Time spent in Cozumel - 30mins
Number of new friends - Absolutely
This was a memory maker for sure and I can confirm that this cruise is proof of the multiverse. Thank you to @hallmarkchannelpr for the ask, @sxmliveloud for the generous tech hospitality, the crew of the Norwegian Joy for taking care of us, and all of our cast members for supporting us all with their time and space.

Happy (day after) World Down Syndrome Day!
One day late to the party this year but here we are.
Last year's post aimed to highlight the daily hidden and normalized struggles of caregiving for someone with a designation, the lifelong advocation both minute or exhaustive, and that lending an ear/hand to those caregivers can be a simple way to lighten an emotional load.
Fantastic.
Recently I had a wonderful conversation with a new friend strongly involved in their school district PAC (parent advisory council) who talked about the idea of whole parent community advocation (shout out to @katie__jameson who was their guest speaker on this subject) a great and not necessarily radical concept. Advocation isn't an inherent skill for everyone. And it can be especially taxing for most. Learning those skills to be an advocate even if you feel like it has no direct bearing on your life is a wonderful way to take up arms with those fighting for access and inclusion. In the past few years we've called this allyship. More voices from those that have the time and emotional resources that those already advocating don't often have = a stronger and more supportive community that benefits us all. Ask a caregiver of someone with a designation what accessibility is missing in their life and you'll find a way in.
Better than fantastic.
As they say - a rising tide floats all boats - and I'm a firm believer that we are all drops of that same ocean.

Happy World Down Syndrome Day!
The past years' posts in my feed have highlighted our love and gratitude for having Miles in our life as well as advocacy for inclusion. Not only because of how it impacts him, but also how it can deprive a community from learning from and growing with those like him. Using 'people first' language and the international down syndrome community's 'assume that I can so maybe I will' are great examples of that.
In addition, from a personal perspective, I want to highlight the daily hidden and normalized struggles of caregiving for someone with a designation as well as the internal dichotomy of mourning the potential loss of a neurotypical future while consistently supporting their capacity to live a full and integrated life. It is a challenging set of ingredients to add to general parenting/caregiver life. I salute parents, caregivers, siblings, extending families, friends and support teams for making space and courageously advocating.
I encourage anyone orbiting those who are in support roles for these special souls to ask themselves how they can join the party and engage, even if it is only to lend an ear.

I did a lot of things last year, but this gallery day was a thing. There's musical harmony which is a magical sorcery all by itself whether you play or listen. Then there is the live experience of being harmonious with other musicians creating a harmony out of thin air which is greater than any one person. Some pretty damn cool stuff happens sometimes with a little fellowship and it's always a gift to get to be in the room when it does.⁠
